    Convenience

    • Distance pacing cruise control with traffic stop-go. Set it and forget it. Road trips used to be stressful. Cruise control only managed speed, but not distance or safety. Now, with Distance pacing cruise control with traffic stop-go, simply set your desired speed and let sensor technology maintain a safe distance between you and the vehicle ahead. It's stop/go feature automatically brings the vehicle to a stop if traffic stops and resumes distance pacing cruise when traffic starts to move again. Distance pacing cruise control with traffic stop-go; your ultimate co-pilot.

    Safety and Security

    • Forward collision mitigation - Forward thinking. You look away for just a second and suddenly the vehicle in front of you has stopped. That's when the forward collision mitigation system comes to life. When it senses an impending impact, it will activate a combination of features to help prevent or reduce the severity of an accident. Forward collision mitigation is always looking ahead.
    • Pedestrian impact prevention - An extra step toward safety. Pedestrians don't always stop, look, and listen, but with Pedestrian Impact Prevention, your vehicle is equipped to better see them and avoid them. This system constantly monitors the road ahead to identify and track pedestrians. It projects that image to an interior display screen, AND should an impact become likely, Pedestrian impact prevention takes steps to avoid a collision.
    • Rear camera - Watching your back! The rear camera helps you see obstacles and hazards you otherwise couldn't by showing enhanced images of what is behind you. The rear camera is an extra set of eyes that's both convenient and safe.
    • Rear collision mitigation - It has your back. Rear collision mitigation uses sensors to monitor the area behind you. If it senses an impending crash, it activates certain features to help prevent a collision or reduce the severity of it. Put your worries behind you with rear collision mitigation.
    • Lane departure prevention - Keep it between the lines. It only takes a moment of inattention for your vehicle to drift. With lane departure prevention, your vehicle takes corrective action to help you avoid unintentionally moving out of your lane. Lane departure prevention is an extra level of safety for you and those around you.
    • Head-up display - Keep your head up! You don't have to take your eyes off of the road to get information from your dashboard anymore. With head-up display, important driving information - like speed and RPM's - displays on your windshield in your line of sight. Because when you're driving, the most important information lies on the road ahead. Keep your eyes on the road with head-up display.

    Technology and Telematics

    • Smart device mirroring - Smartphone, meet smart car. You can control your device through your vehicle's infotainment system. Smart device mirroring brings together safety and convenience by making it easier to find what you're looking for while keeping your eyes on the road.
    • Mobile hotspot - WiFi on the fly. Connect your devices to the Internet through your vehicle's private mobile hotspot and take the internet wherever your journey takes you, without eating up your data allowance. Find the hotspot with mobile hotspot.

after going back & forth on wether to purchase the pilot, highlander or the CX-9 i went w/ the CX-9 Carbon Edition. didn't even bother test driving the pilot-my last THREE cars were accords-and after test driving the highlander, it was just too slow & felt like a mom-mobile. CX-9 is sporty, classy & drives lile a car. nest purchase i've ever made.
    • So far it's what I expected... pretty great !

I've owned a few Mazda's in the past and have been a fan of the brand for a long time so when this SUV came out 3 years ago it got my attention. Obviously it looks great inside and out and is a cut above all the other other mid-size 3 row vehicles it compete's against. The new Santa Fe is close. Mazda's reputation for building cars that handle well does apply to the CX-9 albeit with a plusher, softer ride. The concerns about this car having a turbo 4 banger are unfounded. This power train set up is close to perfect and there is no evidence that it will be not reliable in the long run. The car has plenty of power for most driving only lacking some top end power at higher RPM's. The good: Interior fit and finish and usability. Infotainment is now complete with Apple Car Play/Andoid auto. Fantastic feel behind the wheel.. IE driving dynamics. Its just really good. Exterior styling is a 10 in my opinion. Usable power is right where you need it 90% of the time. HUD and other safety features. HUD is a premium car safety feature. The bad: Fuel economy could be a bit better. I'm averaging 21in mixed driving. Interior space could be tight for larger folks. It works for me though. Third row is tight but they all are and I'll never use it. "A" pillars are very thick and create large blind spots. Engine noise is a bit too loud under hard acceleration. Some torque steer under cornering while accelerating. The unknown: long term reliability. If you need a larger SUV/wagon type vehicle that can haul a good amount of people or stuff and want more of a sports/luxury feel without breaking the bank this is your car. I've had Beemers and Benzes and this car legitimately feels and looks as nice.
    • Better than I thought!

This suv has surpassed my expectations. The turbo is perfect for when you are merging, passing etc, otherwise allowing great gas mileage for all the space! I get 27 mpg and drive 9 over the limit. On the road passengers always comment on the smooth ride and quiet. My fav is the handling and response. I drive fast and get impatient behind slow pokes so I pass and like the turbo responding promptly. It handles great in curves, was just in the mountains yesterday ✅ I’m very pleased!
